Well, I had somewhat intended to make updates every couple of weeks but I wasn't holding myself to that, and now I'm glad that I didn't because wow I would've failed. That being said, I'm actually not doing too badly on my goals for March!

- Write 1k/week. (3/5 weeks)
It's a very low word count goal because I've got more editing on my docket that I need to be doing, but I wanted to keep up that particular pace at least until I finished my short story for the aetherpunk anthology. So far, I've managed to hit it each week. Which leads to the next goal:

- Finish AP short.
I finished the draft last week! I handwrote the entire thing and it ended up being about 700 words under the word limit, which is such a relief. I could definitely tell there were places I was rushing when I was typing it up, so it's nice to know I've got some space to let it breathe in revisions.

- Read a craft book.
I finished reading Steering the Craft, although I am still slowly making my way through doing the exercises. I'm currently working on a viewpoint exercise, which is a challenge mostly because it involves a couple of viewpoints that I don't do very often (specifically detached narrator and involved/omniscient narrator). Fun, but challenging.

I also reread the editing chapters of Writing the Short Story by Jack M. Bickham in advance of editing the aetherpunk short in a week or so.

- Edit a long!fic.
For NaNo this past year, I went in without a plan and basically ended up smashing my way through whatever caught my fancy. I ended up working on 12 stories in some way, shape, or form. Nine were finished, one was queried and rejected, and five have been edited and posted to AO3. Two of those three remaining finished stories are long fics, one for Castlevania (31k) that I've been working on since spring 2020 and a Tiger & Bunny idea (20k) I've had rattling around since about 48 hours after I finished watching the show for the first time.

I would like to get both of those edited and posted in the next few months, but we'll have to see. The Castlevania one will almost certainly require me to rewatch the show just to make sure it fits (it's canon divergent after s2), and both of them are suffering from a serious issue called "you can tell I was desperately trying to make word count," an ailment that afflicts many a draft banged out in the heat of NaNoWriMo. It's not a bad thing, but it does mean both stories will require a lot of editing. So yeah, I haven't quite started this one yet.

I'm also doing the [community profile] getyourwordsout Yahtzee challenge right now, which is...interesting. I've written 1.5 stories for it but haven't posted anything yet. I hope to finish up my first round of prompts before the end of the month so I can get the next round going. I'm also trying for a mixture of original and fanfic, which is really the first time I've done that for a prompt challenge. So we'll see how it goes!

In non-writing news, I'm making my way through some of the anime on my list, and so far I've watched Spy x Family, The Yakuza's Guide to Babysitting, and Lycoris Recoil. All very good, all recommend. I'd like to get through at least one more series before I give into the increasing itch to watch Tiger & Bunny again, because heaven knows that'll consume my life for another 4-6 months once I do.

Reading-wise, I finished He Bears the Cape of Stars and its companion anthology, She Wears the Midnight Crown. I'm also subscribed to the Letters from Watson newsletter, which sends out one of the Sherlock Holmes short stories in 2-3 installments each week, and I've been reading that as well. I'd only ever read one or two of the actual short stories (and the novellas, A Study in Scarlet and The Hound of the Baskervilles), so it's nice to be making my way through them, finally.

That's about it! How's your March going?
