The 3SF technically ends today, in that today is the last day that people can post prompts. However, we can continue to fill prompts all year. I typically haven't in the past—the 2-3 weeks I spend filling prompts during the event itself is usually all I want to do for the year—but this year, I've saved a list of interesting prompts for me to poke at in the future, if I so desire.

Right now, though, I'm working on other stories—fics for Trope Bingo and an original short that's due in April (due in April a week after Tiger & Bunny s2 comes out so that's going to be fun)—so any further 3sf fills will probably not show up until May or June. I'm also debating about whether to offer a fic for Fandom Trumps Hate this year, a debate that needs to resolve soon because today is the last day for creators to sign up.

This is a story that's been on my to-write list ever since paintedrecs lamented her need for a Tiger & Bunny band AU after watching the "Too many cooks spoil the broth" short (which, sadly, no longer exists on YouTube with subtitles). I'd hoped to have it written for her birthday that year. I hope it's acceptable as a New Year's gift instead, some 4 years later. XD

A cold ball of dread solidified in his stomach. "Or awake," Stiles finished.

So back in February, when painted originally finished watching Gargoyles for the first time and had murdered me with feels from her fics before I'd ever seen a single minute of the show, one of the things we discussed was Alex undoing Oberon's punishment on Puck when he was old enough and strong enough. I loved this idea more than words could say, and I figured "Hey, that'll probably be a short little one-shot, like maybe 3k-6k, I can do it after I actually watch the series."

And then I started outlining the fic and thought "oh...maybe 10-15k." And then I started writing the fic and realized, no, there was not a way in hell I was getting out of this in under forty thousand words because do you know how many feelings I have about the Xanatos family in general and Alex and Owen in particular?

(Well, you will, because I put 90% of them into this story right here.)

I'm just lucky it stayed under 50k, in all honesty.

Couple of other notes:

1) As in my other fics and based on painted's fics, Xanatos is poly and he and Fox have an open relationship.

2) Since this is basically a sequel to painted's series Then Fate O'errules, Owen has Alex heal his stone hand when he's about eighteen months old. So pre-1998, Owen has the stone hand; after that, he doesn't.

3) The working title of this fic was "Hey Oberon Fuck You" and I feel like that tells you everything you need to know about my state of mind while writing it. The actual title comes from A Midsummer Night's Dream, like 90% of my Gargoyles fic titles.
