Trevor slept like a log that night; for all his talk of stamina, keeping up with Alucard was exhausting.
He'd also found that not only were his clothes neatly folded on the end of the bed, but a fire was burning low in the hearth.
He stared at it for the longest time, trying to figure out what it meant that Alucard had taken the time not only to bring his things here, but also to start a fire, and then pushed the questions away and fell into bed instead.
He rolled out of bed later than he'd intended and was in the middle of dressing when there was a knock at his door.
Alucard was on the other side, holding a plate of pancakes in his hand.
"What are you doing here?" Trevor asked
"You're late." Alucard held up the plate. "Eat."
